TOOLS: TYPESCRIPT NEXT JS WAGMI TAILWIND CSS MATERIAL UI FIREBASE
Coinfundr, a web3 crowdfunding platform built on the Polygon framework, is a revolutionary approach to fundraising in the digital era. Functioning as the web3 equivalent of GoFundMe, Coinfundr empowers users to create and contribute to fundraisers seamlessly.
I spearheaded the development process by taking the initiative to design the user interface using Figma. As part of a small team of three, I collaborated with another frontend developer to implement the design using NextJS and Tailwind CSS. I created multiple components and pages for the website to ensure a seamless and intuitive user experience.
To handle crypto functionalities, we integrated the WAGMI library, streamlining wallet connections to Coinfundr and facilitating secure payments to other fundraisers.
I proposed a groundbreaking concept called "Proof of Charity," where users who donate to a charity receive an NFT representing the cause they supported, named after Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For instance, donating to a charity addressing hunger might earn the user a "Zero Hunger" NFT. This innovative idea aimed to incentivize donations by partnering with organizations willing to provide discounts or royalties to individuals possessing specific SDG NFTs.
Despite time constraints, our team thrived in a fast-paced environment, showcasing innovation in both design and functionality. Our efforts were rewarded with a 6th runner-up position in the Polygon Africa hackathon, securing a small grant for our project.
Coinfundr holds immense potential for future development, especially with the "Proof of Charity" concept poised to create a meaningful impact. The vision includes collaboration with organizations, fostering a community where individuals with specific SDG NFTs receive exclusive benefits.
